The Department of Respiratory Care Education does not offer scholarships
of its own. However, the department will help you find information about
merit- and need-based scholarships available from professional organizations.

Will I have a job when I graduate?
YES. If you don't it won't be because they aren't out there. They are! The United States government predicts that respiratory care will be one of the 10 fastest growing careers from now until 2010. Most graduates used to work in hospitals but now there are increasingly more opportunities to work with long-term care facilities, manufacturers, medical equipment supply companies, home health agencies, and physicians' offices.
As a graduate you will be eligible to apply for credentials through the National Board for Respiratory Care by taking three examinations. At the end of your junior year, you will be eligible to take the CRT exam. Following your senior year, you will take two more exams. If you pass these two exams you will be certified as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
The opportunities are there. Will you be?
